Neena Gupta Opens Up About Having Daughter Masaba Without Marrying: 'I Suffered, Endured, I Could Have Wasted My Life Crying’
Neena Gupta is one such actress who has never shied away from talking about her personal life in public. In a recent interview, the Badhaai Ho actress opened up about her decision of having daughter Masaba Gupta out of wedlock and shared that she suffered and endured it. The veteran actress explained that she could have wasted her life crying but she simply accepted and went ahead with whatever God gave her.

For the unversed, in the late 1980s Gupta was dating former West Indies cricketer Vivian Richards who was already married then and had kids. In 1989, Neena gave birth to her first child, daughter Masaba and raised her as a single mother. Talking about her bold decision, the Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhana told Navbharat Times, “I suffered, endured, and also enjoyed all of that. What else could I do? I could either keep crying or marry someone pleading 'I want a child'. I could have wasted my life crying. It wasn't my plan to show some act of bravery but I simply accepted and went ahead with whatever God gave me.” ALSO READ: Neena Gupta On Her Relationship With Ex Vivian Richard: ‘Agar Koi Mereko Itna Bura Lagta Hai Toh Main Bachcha Usse Paida Kyun Karungi’
